If the recipient has an import license, DHL can handle the customs clearance process in Mexico.
If the recipient does not have an import license, you can still receive the shipment by arranging an external customs broker (customs clearance agent) on your side.
In this case, DHL will handle the international transportation from Japan to Mexico, including pickup, export customs clearance, and transportation to Mexico. Once the shipment arrives in Mexico, the local customs clearance will be handled by the external customs broker you arrange.
Depending on the case and the arrangement with the customs broker, after customs clearance is completed, the broker may either:
- handle the final delivery to you directly, or
- return the package to DHL so that DHL can handle the final delivery.
Please note that any customs clearance procedures, duties, taxes, and fees related to the external customs broker will need to be arranged and paid by the customer.
